Description

An incomplete cabinet organ, assembled in the 19th century from 17th-century components. The case is composed of elements from South German cabinets of the late 16th and early 17th centuries, and was apparently built to house parts of a 17th-century organ: keyboard, action, soundboard and one set of pipes probably derived from one source. Thus this is a fragment of an organ incorporated in a pastiche; it is not a viable instrument in its present form.
