Grove Dictionary of Musical Instruments describes a Khlui as a ‘Bamboo duct flute of Thailand’. The size of this instrument suggests it is the smallest of the three types, known as a khlui līp. There are seven finger holes plus two pairs of holes at right angles to each at the foot of the instrument; thumb hole plus a hole covered with a small square of paper to create the buzzing sound.
