An Indian instrument in the style of the English B flat band flute. Dark brown wood with brass mounts: in two sections, comprising a head and two alternative body sections; keyless, but with a turned ring as for the pivot of a D sharp key. The two bodies of slightly different length and with different finger holes, viz. (a) with a thumb hole between finger-holes 1 and 2 but no hole at the foot, and (b) without thumb hole but with a small hole c. 25mm above the foot.
